Option Samurai is a broad options scanner. Their site says it scans the entire market using more than 8 data sources and covers more than 22 strategies, from covered calls to iron condors and straddles. If you trade several strategies and want reach, that breadth is the product.
YieldLord does one narrow thing: renting out stock you already want to hold, by selling covered calls and cash-secured puts — and staying with that position until it closes.
Where Option Samurai runs out of road
It is built for breadth, not for one job. Their site lists “more than 22 strategies, such as: covered calls, put spreads, iron condor, straddles, buying calls/puts” — which means the seller’s workflow is one lane among many. Checked 2026-09-10 · source
The workflow their site describes is “Scan → Analyse → Trade” with a trade log you fill in. It does not describe a daily briefing on the positions you already hold, or a roll / assignment workflow. Checked 2026-09-10 · source
It costs more: their own page lists Beginner at $35/month billed annually ($39 monthly) and Advanced at $50/month billed annually ($59 monthly). Checked 2026-09-10 · source

What Option Samurai does well
Worth saying plainly, because a comparison where the other side loses every row is not a comparison.
Far wider coverage than ours: their site says they maintain over a million data points across US stocks and options, from more than 8 data sources, including corporate actions, fundamentals and technicals. Checked 2026-09-10 · source
Real implied-volatility tooling — an IV curve analyzer plus skew and put/call skew analysis. That is deeper IV work than we ship. Checked 2026-09-10 · source
Twenty-plus strategies including iron condors and straddles. We deliberately cover only five seller strategies, so if you trade spreads and volatility structures they simply do more. Checked 2026-09-10 · source
What YieldLord does instead
One job, done all the way through: find the contract, then manage the position until it closes — delta triggers, an alert-price calendar, a roll matrix, checkpoints.
Probability is quoted from the seller's side by default: the chance the contract expires worthless, which is the outcome you actually want.
A morning briefing every trading day after 9:30 ET, about the positions you hold — not a scan you have to remember to run.
The RENT score ranks candidates on 14 factors and surfaces only the top slice, so the list is short on purpose.
Read-only brokerage sync (SnapTrade) fills in positions, cash and equity. It cannot place trades.
An MCP server so your own AI agent can read your positions and run scans.
$14.99 a month at the current half price, plus a free tier and a 14-day trial.

Questions people ask
Is YieldLord a replacement for Option Samurai?
Only if you sell premium and want help after the trade is on. Option Samurai is a much broader scanner — more strategies, more data, deeper IV analysis. If you trade iron condors, straddles or directional options, it does things we do not.
Why is YieldLord so much cheaper?
Because it does less. We cover five seller strategies instead of twenty-two, and a narrower universe. What we spend the difference on is the part after you open the position — the daily briefing, the roll matrix, the assignment workflow.
Is there an Option Samurai coupon code?
We do not hand out other companies' discount codes. YieldLord is half price at $14.99 a month right now and has a free tier, so you can run both before paying for either.
Do you connect to my broker and place trades?
No. Brokerage sync is read-only — it reads positions and balances so you do not have to type them in. Orders go through your own broker. Options trading carries a risk of loss, and nothing here is investment advice.
